Embed Codes
Once your Liveclicker campaign elements have been configured and all of the necessary steps have been executed such as setting up targeting rules and potentially A/B testing, previewing and testing the result, you arrive at the last step of your Liveclicker campaign: retrieving the embed codes. The embed code is what you need to include in your email messages to render the Liveclicker element.
Configure campaign details (mandatory)
In the last step of the creation of your Liveclicker campaign, you need to provide some estimates for your campaign such as the expected number of opens, launch and expiration dates as well as provide details on the type of campaign and the Subscribe ID field. This information is mandatory before being able to access the embed codes and allows Liveclicker to provision the necessary resources in order to ensure scalability of your campaign.
Campaign type
-
One-time campaign (default) — Your campaign will be sent out once and have a big spike of open traffic the first 2-3 days. This type of campaign fades out over time and will have very little opens after 3 days or more. Fallback content is served once the campaign expires for any opens after the selected expiration date.
-
Ongoing campaign — Your campaign will be sent out multiple times over time in a triggered email program, or your campaign is used in templates that are used over and over.
Expected opens — Number of expected opens for the campaign.
For one-time campaigns, this is the total expected number of opens. For ongoing campaigns, this is the daily expected number of opens.
Expected launch date — Enter the expected launch date for the campaign. This date is used to send out email alerts to subscribers (this is set in the profile of a user).
Expected expiration date — Expiration dates only apply to one-time campaigns. If no expiration date is set, the campaign will never expire. The expiration date is also used to send out email alerts informing the subscriber that a campaign is nearing expiration.
Subscriber ID — The selected Subscriber ID is included in the embed code. When multiple Subscriber IDs have been configured for your environment, you can select one from the drop-down.
Edit Custom fields — By default Liveclicker includes all custom fields in the embed code of your campaign. If you are using more than one ESP to send your email campaigns out, and do not want all the fields included in every campaign, you can edit the inclusion of these fields on a campaign by campaign basis.
Click the button Edit Custom fields to load a dialog listing all included custom fields.
Uncheck the fields you do not want included in your embed codes and click save. Now all your embed codes will be updated in your campaign. Please note that if you choose to remove a custom field from your embed codes, that custom field will not be reported in the Insights Dashboard.
Note: You may not be able to uncheck some custom fields because those fields are being used in the setup of your campaign either in personalization or in targeting rules. If you would like to remove a field that is being used in your campaign setup, you must edit your campaign's personalization or targeting rules.
Retrieve embed codes
Now that the campaign details have been configured, the embed codes are ready to be retrieved and used in your email campaigns.
The embed codes contain all necessary information to be able to track interaction with your campaign element once it is used in your messages. If your campaign contains multiple elements, an embed code is available for each element.
Select first the tab for the element for which the embed code needs to be retrieved. Then, click the copy to clipboard button in the embed code window.
You can now use the embed code in your messages.
Note: Making changes to the Liveclicker element after the embed code has been added to your email, might generate a new embed ID for the embed code. It is recommended to update the embedded code in your email messages if this is the case.
